Hello everyone,
Newbies Playground Coop Contest 2015 is finally here! We invite all Unreal-players to take part in this event. As we had contests back in 2011 and 2013 it is about time to initiate the next event!
This year we will run the following maps:

Masterkent wrote a special GameMode for this event that enables players to start their contest-run even if no admin is present. join the server as regular player and you will automatically be set to observer-mode. only the player who initiates "TrialMatch" or during the contest "StartMatch" will be able to play on the ContestServers. Statistics will be automatically stored in a separate .ini file on server.

starts trial singleplayer match, the executor becomes the participant.
StartMatch - [available from 17th of July until 25th of July]
starts singleplayer contest, the executor becomes the participant.

Wow, this event seems to have come around quick - 2 years since the last one - holy smokes!
Can you please explain how the team-game works? Is the team organised in advance or "on the day"?
Also I have a question about reconnecting to the map for the Team Event.
For example when the first button (in front of the purple flamed torch) is pressed (to open the 2nd door in the large main room), it is possible to immediately reconnect at this point to save a hell of a lot of time (see image below).
Normally, players would have return to the "main start room" via the long water-walkway, back up the lift, up the long tunnels and then to the 2nd door in the main room, which is now open. However reconnecting after immediately pressing the switch for the purple flame puts the player MUCH closer to this 2nd door. So is reconnecting disallowed or is there some other measure in place to prevent this.
Reconnecting would also save minutes (literally) at the following point also (image below).
It's a very long walk back from this switch to the 3rd (central) and final door! Canny players will reconnect

the teams for the teamevents will be "assembled" on servers. admins will stick 4 players together (whoever wants to play together) and start the match.
please notice the special commands herefor, described in admin's section (AddContestMember PlayerID, RemoveContestMember PlayerID).
we will run 3 servers simultaneously for the contest events, so it should be possible to offer all participants a run without waiting too long.
it won't be possible to reconnect to cut any maps or to save weapons/items (after reconnection player will set to the same spot he/she left) - gameplay will be "oldschool" and even admin commands are restricted to offer a fair gameplay for all!
and please don't forget to join the singleplayer-events as well

well, i hoped that i had stated the procedure on the contest servers as often as needed. see one of the earlier posts within this thread:

as there was a special gamemode, every player who joined was automatically set as "observer". you only would have needed to enter the command "trialmatch" or "startmatch" as also announced on the servers in the serveradds. maybe next time...

as any contest/event requires the time of various newbies-members, it is basically the decision of the admins who contribute/sacrifice their time to initiate these events, when the next event will take place.
