Well after 6 yrs of punishment, my comp finally failed to start. This is the reason I haven't been around, and I apologize for my absence.
I did try the tin can and string trick, but was unable to connect.
I did end up getting a newer computer and it does seem to play Unreal quite well. Wishing everyone a joyous holiday season, and am once more glad to be able to enjoy the game and people I love so much.
