(((((((((( hug ))))))))))

also, if those meds are causing issues, there are other pain meds which work very well. They may have to switch your meds. I would also tell the dr that your not sleeping... He needs! to know this. Being that tired and stressed makes everything worse. So give him a call!

Hang in there... xoxoxoxo

Well, this isn't going nearly as fast as I would have hoped for. I got the other drain tube out and that caused me to end up with really bad headaches, throbbing in my side and arm, and my stomach wouldn't let up at all. I went ahead and followed Daisy's suggestion of having em change my med's, but turns out that didn't agree with my gut either. Man, I hate this. This is why I haven't been in the server very much lately, and bailing out in the middle of the game without a word. No Turok, I wasn't running away, I'll get you yet!! Hope you can excuse the vanishing act. I realize when it's too late that I've over done it. Then spend the next 4 or 5 hours with my arm on a pillow hurting when I breath. This is so not cool. The stitches come out tomorrow morning. Finally! It's like sticking out and rubs against everything, including AIR!! And then I think of Sparky, and the problems with the servers going down and what all that has entailed to get them back up and running again. Not to mention even having to make adjustments to individual PC's. He went as far as skipping his medication regiment for the week to get on top of this problem. Now I can relate to skipping the med's but that's way above and beyond the call for anyone. A huge THANK YOU for all the efforts Sparky, that you, Tomkat, and Jackal and the rest of you who kept this all together for us all have done. I know I was totally in the dark without your help. And of course it couldn't have been at a worse time as far as I was concerned. This was my only out for ignoring the pain and agony of dealing with this. It gets me through the day better than the medication ever could have. So thank you guys, your the best! I'll drop in the servers whenever I can, for as long as I can. Never a dull moment with you guys! This Has Been....

Fight the pain Mike. I think of that great scene in Star Trek 3, where everyone and their cousin are concentrating on getting Spock's brain back into his body. Same thing here, only we do it with humour :)

Oh, oh, I want that....I wanna brain removal till all this is done!!PLEASE? hehehe. Man, this is the first time since I've returned from that Doctors appointment, that I've even been able to type. I don't get it, it shouldn't hurt this badly for so darn long. He didn't pull all the sutures yet, only about half, then asked when the swelling around the incision came up? I told him I was thinking it was all the rest had gone down, except right there! I guess that's the optimistic attitude, lol, or just pure fear of something worse he might be thinking of doing to me. He prodded, poked, jabbed, pressed, and squeezed on what seemed to be every sore spot on my arm. OOOhhhh soooo NOT COOL!! And personally, I don't think it was any time to check the "range of motion"..lol, well seemed like that's what he was doing anyways. And if the jarring ride there wasn't bad enough, the ride home was even worse. It sent screaming pain,(that's my term for it), with every pot hole, bump, rut, and bounce the car took. By the time I got here I was holding my arm across my chest and went straight to bed. I've had my arm supported on the softest pillow I could find. That was 2 days ago!!! It hurt to BREATH!!! And of course it was another case of the med's not working, or just tearing up my stomach. But you gotta wait the full 4 hours before you can change up, to see if the other does any better. Pill count 2 in 2 days. Oh Yeah, I'm soooo damn sick of all this I just wanna KILL SOMETHING!!...Where is anybody?!? He said that no news was good news on the pathology, so I'm figuring that's a good thing. So, it's back to see him again in a week. And then I go to see the Oncologist, also Tuesday, to find out about the Chemo and when that's going to start up. Man they just don't let up. Guess that's the only way to beat this. That and all the prayers I can get! :D I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers and all the posts. I may not be able to play, but I can still read without straining my arm. So thanks. Hopefully I'll be on later, but I pushed it the other day, and payed for it! so bear with me if I'm not in just yet. Thanks again! This Has Been....

Hang in there Wis. Perhaps some football would relieve some of that frustration. Yeh we lost in OT after we talked last week but this week won hard. Goal line stance.

Take care and get better soon. We need more people like you.

“UNEXPECTED NEWS AND GOOD NEWS” Today’s finally the best day I’ve had in almost a month. Missed being on big time and hanging out with you guys. Each Tuesday was getting to be the worst day of the week because I would be scheduled for my next follow up, to see where things stood and remove more sutures, a little at a time and check for any infection. But this past Tuesday, I had two doctor’s appointments, back to back, at 2 different hospitals. This has been the most trying time I can remember in years. The road trips have taken their toll with all the bumps, ruts and bounces kicking me hard. Laid me out for 3 days. Can’t believe how much that can hurt. But it was worth the trip this time. I got some “Unexpected News and Good News”, as stated by my Oncology surgeon, as he walked into the examination room. Why they make you wait so long for them to show up, I still haven’t figured out yet. That’s a psychological torment in the making.
But here’s the “Unexpected News and Good News”. The central node that was removed in the first surgery was a 6cm. Cancerous mass, (size of a goose egg), that had spread to the secondary nodes and those had been tagged with metal clips, they were also cancerous at the time they were tagged, along with ones that they flowed into. The Oncology surgeon said the unexpected news was that the pathology report stated there was NO CANCER FOUND in the secondary lymph nodes removed and that the Melanoma spot that was removed on the outside of my arm had was in remission at the time it was removed, somehow my immune system was able to destroy the Melanoma cancer cells. He’d never seen this happen before, but at the time he removed them, they were all dark. He’d done these types of surgeries for years and knew I was in trouble. This was Stage III Melanoma cancer. He sent the pathology results out for a second opinion and this was why it was taking so long. They came back without any trace of cancer, only pigment cells. I can’t tell you guys how happy I am right now. I had told you in my past posts that “I could feel the thoughts and prayers being sent” and how much it had meant to me. I really could, and I could feel that I was beating this decease. I will never forget the look on the surgeons face when he was telling me that he’d sent it out for a second opinion because he’d never seen this happen before. Then he said the swelling under my armpit will eventually be absorbed into my body and took the rest of the sutures out. Man, that too was another relief!
So then I made the trip to my Oncology specialist, who’s the head of Oncology for Scripps Hospital, and also one of the leading Cancer specialists in the U.S. He’d also received the pathology reports. He too, was amazed. He’d never seen it happen before in his years of cancer treatment. He said he’s sending my case to the Cancer Council for evaluation to get a second opinion on the pathology report and weather or not any further treatment (Chemo) would be needed. He said that somehow my immune system had attacked the cancer cells, destroyed them.
If ever there was a miracle in the making, I say this was it! I can tell you I had cancer, I can tell you it was Stage III Melanoma, and that it’s extremely rare for people to live more than 5 years even with harsh treatments, that for the most part only keep it in check at best, and I can tell you MINE IS GONE!!!! THANK GOD!!!! I’m astounded thinking about how close I came to cashing it in. I can tell you that it was people like Spongie, who got me to go in and get it checked out when I did, and Turok, Sparky, Daisy, who showed me support almost daily. And the rest of you guys, Turds included, Blonde, with his posts to keep my chin up, and compare scars with, Wever, also gimping along and encouraging me, Taco with his support and insights and all those who were sending thoughts and prayers my way, and all your posts that I want to thank so much. I can still use all of them I can get as I’m still looking at the possibility of Chemo treatments. It would be their way of making sure, but hey, I’ve got faith that all this will be taken care of. You guys are the best, and I appreciate it more than I can tell you. This Has Been….

Now this TOP'S it all really well! I just got back from the Oncology Specialist's office. Have been worried about what type of Chemo I was going to have to endure, now that I'm finally almost healed again. I'm getting really tired of getting beat down as soon as I have healed up. Man, takes a lot out of you when its in constant succession like this. And not being able to sleep, just makes it worse.
So the first thing he says to me is, "Your one Spooky person! Your immune system is Amazing and Unbelievable" He say's, "People with stage III Melanoma, rarely control it, and at best fight it for the rest of their lives with Chemo" "They try to keep it in check from spreading to the rest of their body" He said, "You on the other hand, have somehow wiped it out completely. You're immune system has got some kind of 'Killer Cells' in it that were able to completely destroy the Melanoma cancer and leave only pigment cells in it's path. This I have never seen before and your the only one that I know of that has done it. You are an extremely unusual and rare individual. We don't see any need for Chemo!"
Now by this time I'm smiling so big I can't hear a thing he's saying...hehehe!!!! But I had to ask him at this point, something that I had talked over with Sparky, and we both agreed. I said "You may have the cure for Melanoma Cancer sitting in your office right now. And it would all make sense and all this worth while, if I could let them sample what they need, to find out what it is in my system that beat this cancer. Is the research at a point that this would be possible?" He said,"Most definitely, and they would be extremely interested" It seems that the Cancer Council had never heard of this immune response either. They are very interested in what ever it is that brought about an immune systems response for Melanoma cancer. So I go in next month for blood work and maybe for the beginning of the end to this terrible decease. I am the only one they know of who's had this type of successful recovery, and all I can think is THANK GOD this has come a full circle. WOW, I couldn't be HAPPIER than I am right now. Not only get my life back but give it back to others as well! Man, I know what it was like when I thought I only had less than 6 months to live! What if I could give someone else that same gift of life back to them. Ya, I'm really finding peace in all this for once. Thank You All for the support during such a rough time, and now we can all smile TOGETHER!!! Love All You Guys!! This Has Been....
