Just got back from the Oncologist. Seems their talking about an "armpit dissection" and a 6cm skin area removal on the outside of my arm. Their talking about removing more lymph nodes that are cancerous, and they still haven't determined what stage the cancer is as of yet. :? I don't get it. I thought they already knew at this point. From what I'm told this morning, their not sure that it didn't go all the way through my arm. So as of now, I'm waiting for the Doctor to call me in a few days and let me know whats going on. Feels like I'm back at the beginning again with a really sore arm pit and a scar that's about to be freshened up and having to start all over again with that pain in the ....pit. Then we start Chemo treatments, no radiation because Melanoma doesn't respond well to those types of treatments although I think I would, no pain, no sickness to the treatments. Sounded like what I could deal with. I'll let you know as I find out myself. This Has Been....

I'm not so sure this is completely bad or unexpected news. It sounds like they are being very meticulous to me. I think this is to make sure they have all they can get by surgery and then clean up afterwards with chemo drugs. Sounds pretty standard from what I have read for what you have and what I read would be the most likely course of action. The first operation was to find out what the problem was, and it looked bad so they carved the node out while they were there. I bet they knew at this point that they probably would have to clean up later. This doesn't sound like fun, but you have few choices at this point I think. Your a pretty tough guy so I think with Gods help you will be able to handle whatever he sends your way. Wondering what was the report on the ppt or pet scan. The skin patch your talking about is not that big either or I dont think it is. We are keeping you on the front burner in our prayers and thoughts of course. Hang in there, tough going for a bit, but you will be able to continue to be home and shoot at the Old One on unreal for a while longer till you heal up. Remember my friend, your right where God wants you to be.

I totally stand in agreement with Sparky. They are being thorough, and its tough, and its hard, but you know
we are here for you and praying. Don't let this push you down. You push back. I know you can.

Wow, :D as usual, I think you hit it on the head. Everything you just said makes perfect sense and fits with what they told me. And your right, it's gonna be rough going for a bit, I don't have a choice or few choices at this point, and I would imagine I'm not breaking new ground with their treatments of this condition. Although, he did say they've got a new type of Chemo that he wants to try out, that he thinks will be extremely effective.
I'm curious too as to what the ppt scan showed. Along with the ct scan, I was under the impression that it was a tell all for cancer. Thought that it was a three dimensional picture of what was going on, but when I asked, it seemed to me that he wasn't sure. I asked if it showed if the cancer had gone all the way through the arm. He didn't really give me an answer. I think that's why the dissection of the arm pit and the skin removal on the outside of my arm. It's about where you'd expect to see a small pox vaccination scar and about the size of a pencil eraser head, a little bigger I guess. Just wish he didn't sound like what the surgeon, when he was telling me what the plans were. I did make it clear to him that I didn't want the same surgeon doing this and he said he'd have a Oncology specialist handling it if I wanted. Oh Ya!! Thanks Sparky, I followed through with your advice. Got rid of the one I had! Feeling better about that already!! Hey God bless you guys and thanks for the prayers. I know he blessed me, I got you guys by my side. Thanks for the input, it's what I always look forward to after taking to them. I don't think they speak English, cause I always wait for your translation. hehehe. Thanks again! This Has Been....

Cat Scan and Lab Test

A man runs into the vet's office carrying his dog, screaming for help. The vet rushes him back to an examination room and has him put his dog down on the examination table. The vet examines the still, limp body and after a few moments tells the man that his dog, regrettably, is dead.

The man, clearly agitated and not willing to accept this, demands a second opinion. The vet goes into the back room and comes out with a cat and puts the cat down next to the dog's body. The cat sniffs the body, walks from head to tail poking and sniffing the dog's body and finally looks at the vet and meows. The vet looks at the man and says, "I'm sorry, but the cat thinks that your dog is dead too."

The man is still unwilling to accept that his dog is dead. The vet brings in a black Labrador. The lab sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, and finally looks at the vet and barks. The vet looks at the man and says, "I'm sorry, but the lab thinks your dog is dead too."

The man, finally resigned to the diagnosis, thanks the vet and asks how much he owes. The vet answers, "$650." "$650 to tell me my dog is dead?" exclaimed the man.... "Well," the vet replies, "I would only have charged you $50 for my initial diagnosis. The additional $600 was for the cat scan and lab tests."

Solo.... :D :D :D ....now that was too funny bro, first time I've laughed all day. And if you know me, I usually laugh about something soon as I wake up if you can believe that. Loved it, don't know how you found that but it couldn't have hit home more. I actually laughed out loud here and Sue asked what I was laughing about. Thanks man! Also thanks Turok, ya know, it doesn't matter what's going on in my life, you always get me forgetting my troubles when we're playing. So does the rest of you guys but I always can count on a good "punkin" from Turok and Sparky....you guys make my day  . Daisy too,...but She's NICE!!! :P ...hehehe...Love all you guys...thanks a bunch. This Has Been....

oh woops , i forgot to think, does it hurt when you laugh ?

glad you apreciated it :)

I seem to find anything to do with cats amusing, and thats one i remember hearing ages ago,
especialy i cant help but remember it whenever someone mentions "cat scan"
i had to google to find somewhere to copy/paste it from.

I started I find it best if I try and avoid my problems, so I play games to escape,
when unreal came out 10 years ago, it certainly did that, I dont usualy mention my problems,
although seeing sick puppy's story i couldnt help let it known here.

cats and humour help me make it through the days.
I get a bit worried cos sometimes I go over the top and wory people might think my humour is innaproriate,
I just upset someone else i didnt know cos of a cat video on godtube, and they were atheist lol,
and to start with I was worried cos i thought they were overly religious and thougt it sacralige to have cat videoes on there lol !
so im so glad you likde it :)

I been playing on newbies quite a bit since i saw the coop server,
I feel like I know you as ive heard so much said,
although I so far I only realy got to know that crazy cat woman ...

oh and i dont think you realy need to worry,
my mum is a survivor of breast cancer for over 25 years now,
and things have moved on a lot, and if it hurts realy bad you get those lovly morphine shots !

ps have you seen my engineers guide to cats video/thread ?

solo =(crazy cat man)=

Hey thanks Wever, I'll take what I can get! lol. I appreciate it. Seems that Blonde's going through some bad times too, so hey I don't mind him being included in the "asking" if you would. Thanks again! :D And SOLO!!!!!.....ooohhh man, I sat here and was cracking up at that video. My cats are EXACTLY like that. Thought it was great, and I busted up when I realized that as that video went on, that box got smaller and the mess on the rug got bigger. My cat loves cardboard boxes too, and so I got one in the living room for her and her toys, but she don't eat it! Too funny. Thanks man. :D This Has Been....
