More sad news from the Great White North

Post by [ima]Nidiyet^eh? »

Just a heads up on the flood situation [I woulda called, Kim, but I'm on a pay as you go phone and my minutes are low.] Flood season is over and it wasn't as bad as we expected. But that's the good news. Chris's mom took a bad stroke several days ago and the prognosis is grim. That's all I'll say for now and if BP wants to post more details here, then that's his perogative. He's spending a great deal of time at the hospital so you won't see him [us] online too much. As you all know, we are on dialup and we'd like to keep the phone open for important calls. A few words to the Big Guy prolly wouldn't hurt.

Loosing my best friend:(

It's been an horrible month.
On april 2 my kids Great grandmother passed away... that same day my Uncle passed away..... the next day my brother's ex girl friend was murdered....
Last Tuesday I got a call from my mom's next door neighbour that the tv had been on for a couple of days so I ran down to trenton that night to find that my mom had been on the floor since sunday morning.
she had had a large annurism in the base of her brain which is innoperable. Since she has a no resucitation order.. and said no to more surgery ....all they can do is try to keep her comfortable . she also developed pneumonia which is not being treated....She has been in a great deal of pain all week....
I was able to get my oldest brother back from the west coast for this and we are all just spending as much time with her as we can.
there is almost zero chance that she will survive this... and even if by some slim chance she does... she will be in a home. The brain damage is considerable and she barely knows who we are or whats going on.
She's a tough old gal and just isnt ready to let go yet.
My own personal situation has taken a bad turn as well... My van is toast...finances screwed...and the mortgage company is about to take the house cause i got too far behind on everything....
... testing sanity....1 2 3 testing....
Its been a long month and I expect it's only gonna get worse....
Thanks for your kind words and thoughts.... I'll keep you posted as I get time to....

Wow Chris sorry to hear so many things going bad for you right now. Life is always a test. Seems like problems come in droves. You are never prepared for the crisis that eventually comes to us all. We are never given more than we can handle, but It sure doesn't seem that way when your in the middle of it. All I can suggest at this point is what I have done in the past that has worked for me. When lifes troubles and woes get to much, I dump it all on my God, and let him sort it out. It never fails to bring a calming effect to me and he has never failed to assume the load.
No amount of worry or stress on our part can change Gods plan for each of our lives.

Your family remains in our prayers. May God comfort you all and give you strength as his plan for your life unfolds. Remember this, which I believe earnestly, God is in control, do not despair.

My personal favorite weapon for this type of situation is the Lords Prayer.
Life will get better. This prayer, brings an inner peace to me in times of great trouble which I am unable to put into words.

Mostly a copy of what i sent Kim yesterday......

It's been a long couple of weeks...I've been staying
down at the hospital for the last few days... plus all
the double and triple runs down there everyday since
this happened... havent been home in days so i came up
to check on the house and had a nap cause i
havent slept in 3 days
We disconnected mom on thursday morning but she is
stubborn and just not ready to go.(she's waiting for something but we dont know what)
Its horrible watching her die slowly and suffering like this..they
are keeping her pretty heavily sedated for this so
she has basically already been gone for a week...one
foot here and one foot in heaven...
I went and made all the funeral arrangements friday
afternoon with my brother steve and susan
since i am the power of attorney and the executor of
the will , everything is on my shoulders to take care
of.
Justin's grandparents are looking after him now for a
while while this goes on and I will probably be gone
again for most of this week... lots to do... plus
having to be there for mom when she goes...then i want
to take care of her house and stuff and i want to do
it quickly and get it over with...
she will be cremated and Steve and Rusty (brothers) and I are
going to sneak some of her into her parents gravesite.
Then Steve, the kids and I are going to take her
"home" ...to Flinton...
Too much going on and too busy and burnt out now...
Havent been online hardly at all the last couple of
weeks not since i posted in the this. It is still going to be a long and difficult thing..
Sunday night now and heading back down to the hospital.
Again thanks for all your kind words and thoughts.
