Unable to get into servers

Keep getting a message saying "error downloading..." then gives me the name of the file or map.

I think It knows you dont ever play anymore. Heres some sparky magic, Delete it from your favorites, find it again on the all server list and try that, see if it works, re add to favorites. Its magic I tell you.

Didnt work. after a while, get a messaga saying "error..cant download file **filename**"
Its not only newbies server, its in most or all I should say. Only one I got in was the NxS 1 vs 1 Deck 16 server

Well in days gone by you would have got on AIM and I would have helped you, that was before you got the face book habit.

1. Make sure your problem is really Unreal related. Try downloading something else, some pics or music files.

2. If other downloads outside of Unreal are ok, try this:
Rename your Unreal.ini to Unreal.mine or whatever you want.
Make a copy of Default.ini and rename it to Unreal.ini, try if you can enter the servers.

3. Let us know the result of this test.

Ok, so it's not the Unreal.ini
If I remember correctly you're running Unreal Gold with a 227 patch.
Since you already have 227 you could try the latest patch for Gold. You can find it here:

Look for UnrealGold227h

You should make a copy of your Unreal System folder first for the case it shouldn't work. If somethings going wrong you can restore your game again. Maybe something was messed up in your game. If thats the case, the patch can probably fix it.

PS: Anything to find in the logfile? Maybe that could give a hint to the problem.

still thinking about this weird problem.
Question: If possible could you plz post the Unreal.log file after you got the error message?
Question: The problem only occurs when a download is required?
The server you mentioned runs a standard map, so no other files needed.
Question: To enter a server you are using the Unreal browser or another program or maybe only a link?
Question: Your game gives only an error message, but it does not crash???

There is one other thing you could test.
You will need Sparky's help for it. If Sparky could switch a server to a standard map, like Deck16 for example, you should try if you can enter the server without any errors.
I'm still not sure if your problem is really Unreal related.

I updated to 227h like you said..didnt make a difference. I wont be able to work on this until the weekend So I can try the other things you told me. I will keep you posted. Tnx Leela!
